The other day I was flipping through the channels and came across a show on one of those business channels. They were talking about personalities in business and they were discussing the dichotomy between being a good/hard businessman and an S.O.B. (you can figure out the abbreviation...).
One of the panelist made a comment that really stood out to me. She said, "A good leader understands what situation they are in and they reach in their toolbox and use the right tool for the situation." What an incredible statement!
It really made me think about the situations that I deal with in ministry and leadership. I am sure I am not the only one that has done this, but there have been many times that I have not used the right tool in handling some of the situations I have been handed. Part of me struggles to know what tools are the ones I should really focus on and become proficient with in leadership.
I am sure that their are many tools that a leader can use in dealing with situations, but I would love to hear some of your thoughts on the most important ones!
